Big gift for YSU

Youngstown State University officials will announce a major, seven-figure gift to the university at 11 a.m. Wednesday at a news conference in the lobby of Tod Hall on campus, according to a YSU press release. Earlier this month, the university received a $1 million gift from Frank and Norma Watson of Canfield for use in building a Student Success Center.
Bike to breakfast

The Bike to Work Warren Committee’s fifth annual Bike to Work Breakfast event is Friday.
A free continental breakfast will be provided at the Log Cabin West of Courthouse Square in downtown Warren from 6 to 9 a.m. to those who arrive on a bicycle. Residents and employees of Trumbull County are invited to participate.
T-shirts will be available to the first 100 cyclists with the opportunity to win other prizes and giveaways. A group photo will be taken about 8:30 a.m.

Forum on ‘Struggles’

Restoration Christian Fellowship, 760 Main St. SW, will host a community forum from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday with the theme “Dealing with Our Inner Struggles.”
There will be two short presentations by Pastor Joe Walker of Restoration Christian Fellowship Church and Pastor Dan Barker of Cortland Trinity Baptist Church. A question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.

The next meeting of the Beaver Police Crime Watch will be at 7 p.m. May 24 at Shepherd of the Valley, 9111 Sharrott Road.
Dan Deville, resident agent in charge of the U.S. Marshal’s office, will speak on the office’s operations and the Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Local crime statistics will be covered.
Liberty road closing
LIBERTY
Anderson Morris Road, between U.S. Route 422 and Oriel Rogers Road, will be closed June 6 through Oct. 6 for bridge replacement. The recommended detour route is west on Anderson Morris, south on Route 422, east on Tibbetts-Wick Road, north on Pleasant Valley Road and west on Oriel Rogers.
Warren road closing
WARREN
Nelson-Moser Road, between Park and Allen-Smith roads in Warren and Braceville townships, will be closed June 1 through Oct. 28 for bridge replacement.
The recommended detour route is west on Park Road, south on Diehl South Road, west of state Route 5/state Route 82, north on Newton Falls Braceville-Robinson Road, and east on Nelson-Moser.
