Alzheimer’s Association hosts dinner, gives award

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR | The Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter hosted its “Paint the Night Purple” benefit dinner and auction April 16 at the Lake Club in Poland. Howland neurologist Holly Maggiano, M.D., above, was honored with the 2016 Champion Award for her compassion- ate and holistic approach to working with persons will Alzheimer’s disease and their families. More than 180 attended the event and a por- tion of the proceeds will go to Alzheimer’s research. It is estimated that 5.4 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and nearly 16 million family members and friends are caregivers.
