Women of Distinction luncheon planned

The Youngstown Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women will sponsor a “Women of Distinction” luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn on South Avenue, Boardman.

Recipients of this year’s Bethune-Height Award will be Mary Halfacre and retired Detective Sgt. Delphine Baldwin-Casey. The award is presented to deserving women from the community in various categories who are seen to represent the values and beliefs of the organization’s founder, Dr. Mary McCleod Bethune, and long-time leader, Dr. Dorothy L. Height.

Local singer and author Ja’Maela Byrd will provide entertainment.
