Munnell Run Farm sets May events

MERCER, PA.

Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, has scheduled upcoming events for the latter part of this month.

Debbie Plant, a Penn State master gardener, will teach the basics of starting a container herb garden from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Participants will plant nine various species in a container to take home, and Plant will provide soil mix, labels and fertilizer to help participants establish their gardens. Take your own garden gloves. Cost is $30. Registration and payment is due by Wednesday.

Mitzi Dales, owner of No Place Like Home in Greenville, Pa., and a farm guest artisan, will teach guests to transfer graphics onto wood signs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 25.

No art experience is required. All paint materials and instruction will be provided. Guests are responsible for choosing a saying that they will put on their wooden sign and sharing their choice upon registration.

Choices include: Summer Lovin’ Had Me A Blast; America The Beautiful; Fresh Produce Locally Grown; or It’s Gonna Be Another Flip Flop Summer. To see examples of each, visit munnellrunfarm.org and click on calendar. Program cost is $40 and registration is due by Wednesday.
