Maria Christina Culp and Ryan Michael Hancock, both of Girard, exchanged wedding vows Jan. 16 at 2 p.m. at St. Rose Church. Monsignor John Zuraw officiated at the ceremony, and a reception took place at The Embassy in Boardman.

Parents of the bride are Carl and Tina Culp of Girard, and parents of the groom are Helen Hancock of Girard and John Hancock of Austintown.

The bride wore an ivory gown embellished with beaded lace appliques throughout and designed with a chapel train. Her ensemble was completed with a crystal headpiece and cathedral veil with beaded edges.

The maid of honor was Theresa Culp, a sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Megan Culp, sister-in-law of the bride; Angela Parillo, cousin of the bride; Samantha Hanna; Johnna Dunkel; Brittany Simon; and Gina Sherock. A cousin of the bride, Gwendolyn Lowther, was the flower girl. The attendants wore amethyst-colored dresses.

Marty Brinker was best man. Groomsmen were Justin Fryer; Cory Hancock, brother of the groom; David Culp, brother of the bride; Eric Archer, Nick DeVore and David Sherock. Ring bearers were Anthony Zoccali and Jaxon Pruneski, cousins of the groom.

After a wedding trip to St. Lucia in the Caribbean Islands, the couple live in Canfield.

They both graduated from Youngstown State University. Mrs. Hancock earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and Mr. Hancock earned a bachelor’s degree in education.

The bride is a registered nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital of Mahoning Valley, and the groom is a history teacher at Horizon Science Academy.
