Knights’ 50th honored with reception at VFW

William L. Sr. and Arlene J. Knight were honored for their 50th wedding anniversary at a reception April 16 at VFW 2799 in New Springfield.

It was hosted by Jack Knight, a brother of William Sr., and the couple’s children, Lora L. Russell of Boardman, and Ronald E. Knight of Lisbon. A son, William L. Knight Jr., lives in Pooler, Ga.

Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren complete the family.

Mr. Knight married the former Arlene Kirk on April 16, 1966, at Poland Center Community Church.

He retired from East Fairfield Coal Co., Petersburg, in 2013, and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1969.
