POSTER CONTEST | Winners

The Mahoning County commissioners recognized the winners of the county recycling division’s annual Earth Day poster contest. The posters express a litter control or recycling theme. The winners were chosen from 780 contest entries from the county’s public, private and parochial schools. The first-place winners, their schools and grades are:

Delaney Ankeles, Holy Family, first grade.

Matthew Steiner, West Boulevard Elementary, second grade.

Isabel Klisiewics, West Boulevard Elementary, third grade.

Zoe LaRosa, Stadium Drive Elementary, fourth grade.

Makiah Kutz, West Branch Middle, fifth grade.

Gwen Lamp, West Branch Middle, sixth grade.

Lucia Naples, Holy Family, seventh grade.

Haley Jones, West Branch Middle, eighth grade.

Miscellaneous: Copies of all first-place posters will be used as place mats in local restaurants and nonprofit organizations’ special meals.
