Victor Boone was arrested Saturday on a charge of possession of heroin, bonded out of the Mahoning County jail Monday and was back in the jail Wednesday after being arrested again on the same charge.

Boone, 26, of East Midlothian Boulevard, is expected to be arraigned today in municipal court on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of heroin and illegal conveyance of prohibited items into a detention facility after a traffic stop about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Reports said Community Police Unit officers Jose Morales Jr. and Phil Skowron saw a car Boone was driving make an improper turn from Erie Street to East Midlothian Boulevard, and when they tried to stop it, Boone pulled into his drive.

Boone has no license or insurance, and when he was searched, officers found a bag of suspected marijuana after Boone told them he had “just a bit of weed,” reports said. He was placed in a cruiser and vice squad officer Jimmy Hughes Jr., who arrived to assist, saw Boone moving around in the back of the cruiser like he was trying to get something out of his pants.

Reports said Boone told police several times he had nothing illegal on him, but when they got him to the jail, they found a powder that is suspected to be heroin on the seat where he was sitting and a ripped plastic bag stuffed between the seats.

Boone was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Glenwood and Sherwood avenues after he was pulled over for running a stop sign. Reports said he told officers he had a dose of heroin in his shorts and he was taken to the jail. Judge Robert Milich set his bond at $5,000 when he was arraigned Monday and court records show he posted the bond later in the day.

A passenger in the car with him Wednesday, Louis Jones, 26, of Brentwood Avenue, was issued a citation for possession of drugs after police found eight painkillers on him when he was searched. He was given a court date and released.

Earlier Wednesday, about 4:15 p.m., vice squad officers serving a search warrant investigating drug activity at an apartment in the 2400 block of Tyrell Avenue on the West Side arrested Michael Moore, 26, of Tyrell Avenue. Reports said the officers found two scales, a bag of suspected marijuana and a bag of suspected heroin. Moore also is expected to be arraigned in municipal court today on charges of possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
