YOUNGSTOWN

A Mahoning County grand jury indicted two men on aggravated-murder charges.

Bernard Barnes, 57, was indicted Thursday on charges of aggravated murder and discharge of a firearm on or near prohibited premises with firearm specifications in the death of Kenneth Evans, 57.

Evans was found shot in the stomach about 10 p.m. last Friday in the 1900 block of Manhattan Avenue on the West Side. He died of his wounds a few hours later at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

Barnes was arrested without incident at a home on West LaClede Avenue about the same time Evans died. Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument over a woman.
