YOUNGSTOWN
The former Inspiring Minds Youngstown executive director Thursday was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury.
Timothy Frost, 35, of Creed Street in Struthers, faces charges of trafficking in marijuana with forfeiture specifications, obstructing official business and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
Reports said officers responding to reports of gunfire early April 3 pursued Frost’s Cadillac Escalade from East Evergreen Avenue to Market Street to East Indianola Avenue, where the car finally stopped.
After he got out of the car, Frost failed to obey officers and keep his hands out of his pockets, and when it looked like he was trying to pull something out, he was shot with an electronic stun gun, reports said. Reports said Frost was reaching for his wallet.
In the car, reports said police found 16 bags of suspected marijuana, $310 cash and a marijuana grinder.
Frost managed to post bail after he was arraigned April 4 in municipal court.
Since his arrest, Frost has been placed on indefinite leave without pay, and a replacement has been named for his post.
Inspiring Minds Youngstown was launched in 2015 as an affiliate of Warren Inspiring Minds, which has been operating since 2006, working with schoolchildren to help provide tools for success.
