Austintown Reads Program volunteers visit Rotary Club

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Volunteers from the Austintown Reads Program were guests of Rotary Club of Austintown on April 25. The rotary has supported the program at Austintown Elementary for the second grade even after it was discontinued by the state. Students spend 30 minutes per session with a mentor for individual help. Above, honorees, in front from left, are Sandra Shrode, Elaine Glaros, Director Kathy Kane and Muriel Baranack. Patricia McCamy from West Side Cats, 2217 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown, was the guest speaker, giving the history and purpose of the no-kill shelter where volunteers and donations are welcome.
