Theater will honor its donors

YOUNGSTOWN
The Youngstown Playhouse has received a great deal of help in recent years from Valley residents, organizations, businesses and foundations and will honor all of its donors on opening night of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.”
A reception will take place in the theater lobby after the 7:30 p.m. performance.
The revitalized theater has bounced back from a financial crisis that began in late 2008, working its way back to solid artistic and financial footing with the help of some major financial gifts and services to maintain and renovate the building.
Some of the businesses being honored at Friday’s performance include Clayton Heating and Cooling, Alex Downie and Sons Construction, MS Consultants Inc., Piper’s Printing, Rich Print, Star Supply Bargain Outlet, Vector Security, Wee Ones Pediatrics, Briarfield Health Care System, Vincent Lighting and Schroedel, Scullin and Bestic, to name a few.
Several local foundations that assisted with show sponsorship also will be celebrated Friday, including Anne K. Christman Foundation, the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, J. Ford Crandall Memorial Foundation, Warren P. Williamson Fund, the Youngstown Foundation, Aimee and Lulu Seidel Charitable Trust, Thomases Family Endowment and the Robert Tornello Endowment Fund.
Special recognition will be given to the Monday Musical Club Fund of the Youngstown Foundation for its complete sponsorship of the 2015-16 Youngstown Playhouse Orchestra, and the late Rand and Eleanor Becker for their many years of service and dedication to keeping the theater alive.
