Pair arrested, drugs confiscated after Campbell traffic stop
CAMPBELL — Two men face charges ranging from drug possession to permitting drug abuse after a Wednesday traffic stop.
Police stopped a jeep Wednesday afternoon for a faulty brake light in front of the Holy Trinity Church on North Bridge Street. They asked for the license and registration from the driver, later identified as 12th Street resident Darrell Stores, 59.
Edward Dial, 43, of Struthers, was a passenger, police said.
When Stores couldn't show the necessary documents, officers searched the vehicle and found two Suboxone packets as well as pill bottles containing several prescription medicines. When officers asked if Stores had a prescription for the Suboxone, he said no, but claimed Dial gave it to him.
Dial immediately agreed with his claim.
Due to conflicting stories, police arrested the pair.
Stores and Dial, both await arraignment at the Campbell Municipal Court today at 9 a.m.
