Mayor declares Eastern European Month
SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Youngstown Mayor John McNally presented a declaration celebrating April as Eastern European Month in Ohio at the Eastern European Month Celebration that took place April 5 at the Polish American Cultural Center in Cleveland. The Honorable Jurcek Zmauc, former Slovenian Consul General in Cleveland, was the speaker. Eastern European Congress of Ohio culturally unites the people of Ohio whose ancestry and heritage are from Eastern Europe and include Polish, Slovak, Hungarian, Russian, Czech, Ukrainian, Greek, Serbian, Croatian and Slovenian peoples. Mayor McNally’s declaration honors all Eastern European Ohio Citizens for their contributions throughout the Mahoning Valley and the State of Ohio and for their dedication toward preserving the Eastern European heritage and traditions in our community.
