YOUNGSTOWN — Victor Boone was arrested Saturday on a charge of possession of heroin, bonded out of the Mahoning County jail Monday and was back in the jail Wednesday after being arrested again on the same charge.
Boone, 26, of East Midlothian Boulevard, is expected to be arraigned in municipal court Friday on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of heroin and illegal conveyance of prohibited items into a detention facility after a traffic stop about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Reports said Community Police Unit officers Jose Morales Jr. and Phil Skowron saw a car Boone was driving make an improper turn from Erie Street to East Midlothian Boulevard. When they tried to stop it Boone pulled into his driveway.
Boone has no license or insurance and when he was searched officers found a bag of marijuana after Boone told them he had “just a bit of weed,” reports said. He was placed in a cruiser and Vice Squad officer Jimmy Hughes Jr., who arrived to assist, saw Boone moving around in the back of the cruiser like he was trying to get something out of his pants.
Reports said Boone told police several times he possessed nothing illegal but when they got him to the jail, they found a powder that is suspected to be heroin on the seat where he was sitting and a ripped plastic bag stuffed between the seats.
