UPDATE | Public gathers to offer input on Youngstown schools CEO

YOUNGSTOWN

About 100 people so far are lining the chairs inside the Choffin Career and Technical Center Commons to offer input on a school district CEO.

The Youngstown City School District Academic Distress Commission called today's gathering to hear from parents, teachers, administrators and community leaders about the qualities they want to see in a school district chief executive officer.

Most of the attendees list honesty as the most important character.

They also believe the CEO should come from the Mahoning Valley and either be from or have worked in an urban environment. A survey with the same questions used at tonight's forum will be posted on the district website. Input may be provided through Friday.
