BOARDMAN
Township police say a man who passed out, possibly from using drugs, crashed into a Burger King restaurant and then a township cruiser after being awakened by police who had received a call reporting an unresponsive male slumped over the steering wheel of a car in a parking lot near West Midlothian Boulevard and Hillman Street.
Officers say the man hit the gas pedal when they woke him up, drove across Hillman and crashed into the fast-food restaurant and then backed up and rammed a police vehicle while trying to escape, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
An officer smashed a window of the vehicle to pull the driver out after he failed to obey an order to get out of the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police found a syringe filled with an unidentified substance. The driver is expected to face several charges today.
