City man faces obstruction charge after chase
YOUNGSTOWN — Police say a man who scaled a fence and ran through several West Side yards about 3:15 p.m. Monday was arrested on a charge of obstruction of justice.
Reports said an officer tried to pull over a car at Mahoning and Schenley avenues because the driver, Shawta Hasley, 20, of St. Louis Avenue, matched the description of someone who took a car without permission over the weekend.
Reports said Hasley pulled into a parking lot then got out of the car and ran away and climbed a fence before he was caught in the first block of South Hazelwood Avenue.
Reports said the owner of the car was called to the scene and he identified Hasley as the person who was in his car over the weekend without permission.
Hasley is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in municipal court.
