Austintown racino revenue up

Video lottery terminal revenues at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course were up 14.7 percent in April 2016 over April 2015.
The VLT or slot revenue in April 2016 was $8,969,129 compared with $7,736,887 in April 2015, according to the revenue report released by the Ohio Lottery Commission on Monday.
Eric Schippers, senior vice president of Penn National Gaming Inc., said the numbers reflect the “strong management team” at Penn’s Austintown racino.
“Although we typically don’t discuss monthly revenues, April’s numbers indicate the continued focus of our Ohio operations – including our team at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course – on responding to our customers’ needs and seeking to provide best-in-class customer service and entertainment,” Schippers said in an email statement.
In April 2016, the Austintown racino had 940 slot machines, while in April 2015 there were 865 slot machines.
There were $90.6 million in credits played at the Austintown racino. Players won $80.6 million in credits – a 90.1 percent payout, which equated to a win per day per VLT of $318.
Revenue from the state’s seven racinos in April 2016 was $78.9 million compared with $70.5 million reported in April 2015.
The state’s four casinos reported revenue of $73.5 million in April 2016, according to the Ohio Casino Control Commission. In April 2015, casino revenue was $69.5 million.
