Firefighters battle a pair of city blazes
YOUNGSTOWN — City firefighters battled blazes at two vacant houses Sunday evening on different sides of town.
Reports said a fire at 330 W. Earle Ave. on the South Side about 10:30 p.m. caused $4,000 in damage. Reports said the blaze started in the kitchen of the home.
Earlier, about 9:05 p.m., a fire at a 41 N. Truesdale Ave. home on the East Side caused $1,000 in damage. Reports said the fire started in a stairway inside the home.
There were no injuries in either blaze.
