The Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre will present its third Celebrate Life dance Concert at 4 p.m. next Sunday at Powers Auditorium, 260 W. Federal St.
Billy Beck, an original member of The Ohio Players, and Rick Ward, guitarist for the band, will again lead the LRDT ensemble.
The concert will feature a cast of more than 40 dancers and musicians as well as visual artists.
Various dance genres will be performed, including ballet, modern, contemporary, Afro-Caribbean, tap, hip-hop and salsa.
There also will be tribute performances to four LRDT Legends in the Arts honorees who are all Youngstown natives: Kool Bayann and Khalis Bell (the founding members of Kool & the Gang), Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, Al Bright and Sophia Brooks.
A pre-concert V.I.P. meet-and-greet with the honorees will take place at 3 p.m. for those who purchase V.I.P. tickets, which include reserved seating.
The black-tie gala concert previously took place at East High School but is moving to accommodate the growing audience.
A reception will follow the performance.
Proceeds from the concert provide scholarships to nearly 80 students whose families otherwise could not afford the lessons. All donations are tax deductible.
For tickets, go to LindsayRenea.com, or call 330-732-5738. General- admission tickets are $35 per person. V.I.P. tickets are $85 per person. Group rates are available.
