Rev. Schinbeckler is new pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, will install its new pastor, the Rev. David Schinbeckler, at a special installation service at 4:30 p.m. today.

The Rev. Terry Cripe, Ohio district president of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, will deliver the message. The Revs. Ralph Hough and John Eiwen will lead the liturgy. Pastors from other local LCMS will assist with the service.

There will be a catered dinner reception in fellowship hall of the church after the service.

On Sunday, the Rev. Mr. Schinbeckler will lead the adult Bible class at 9 a.m. and Sunday worship service at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Schinbeckler comes to Redeemer from Holy Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sandusky, Mich., where he served for nearly two years. Prior to that, he served Peace Lutheran Church near Fayetteville, Ark.

He received his undergraduate education at Indiana-Purdue University of Fort Wayne, Ind., and graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne in 2013.

Before being ordained, he served the church as a long-time children’s Sunday school teacher and adult Bible study instructor.

Mr. Schinbeckler specializes in stewardship ministry and is a certified instructor for Crown Financial Ministries. He also served as congregational president and chairman of the board of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne for several years before transferring to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, also in Fort Wayne. At Emmanuel, he served on various boards and committees and led adult Bible studies.

Prior to full-time ministry, he was a musician, electrician, in banking and sales and an entrepreneur. He also served in the U.S. Army for six years. Before entering seminary, Pastor Schinbeckler was president of American Laminating Co. of Indiana, a paper-finishing company he and his wife, Coleen, owned. He served in that position for 18 years before selling the business in 2011 in order to attend seminary full time.

He and his wife have been married for 40 years and they have two sons, Aaron and Drew, who live in San Antonio, Texas.
