Judge OKs DNA tests in Prince estate case

CHASKA, Minn.

The judge overseeing the Prince estate case has authorized genetic testing on a sample of his blood in case it’s necessary to determine who’s entitled to shares of the estate.

Carver County District Judge Kevin Eide on Friday granted a request by the special administrator overseeing the estate, Bremer Trust, to hire DNA Diagnostics Center to perform the genetic testing on a blood sample now held by the medical examiner’s office that conducted the autopsy on Prince.

Prince died April 21 at his home in suburban Minneapolis. The cause remains under investigation.

Calif. cave closed over Doors-inspired graffiti

LOS ANGELES

As the Doors song goes, this is the end. Fans of the band who have marked up a scenic cave on the California coast with psychedelic graffiti will have to find another place to spray out their love for front man Jim Morrison.

The trend began with a social media myth that singer Morrison wrote songs in Corral Canyon Cave in Malibu Creek State Park.

It always was a popular hiking spot for nature-lovers seeking sweeping views, and it always had some vandalism, but in the past year it has spiraled out of control.

The cave now looks almost tie-dyed with multicolored swirls, and Doors lyrics like “love me 2 times” and “try to set the night on fire” scrawled on its walls.

Now the cave has been closed indefinitely for cleaning.
