Motor on for RJM benefit dinner set

The second annual Motor On For RJM benefit dinner will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. May 22 at Boardman High School, 7777 Glenwood Ave., for Robert J. Melone, a 1991 Poland Seminary High School graduate.
The menu consists of penne pasta, meatballs, one-quarter herbed chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls, dessert and beverages.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children 5 to 11 and free for kids 4 and under.
Carryout will be available, and tickets can be purchased in advance from Roslyn Schmidt, 330-360-1904, or Scarsella’s Restaurant, 330-788-0806.
A Motor In For RJM account has been set up at Huntington Bank branches for monetary donations.
Entertainment will feature Tony Horvath from Struthers and Dominic and Lenny DiTomasso from Vienna.
There also will be a basket auction, 50-50 raffle, bake sale and a Gorantz Kidz Kandy Korner.
Melone was in a motorcycle accident Sept. 11, 2012, on the way to work at the Hilton Hotel in Virginia as executive chef. The accident left him paralyzed from his chest down. He was a chef for 17 years including Boardman, Youngstown, Howland and Salem.
The funds will be used to provide him with a handicap-converted van for transportation to his Cleveland doctors who are offering programs for health and survival training.
