Fatima Conference planned May 13-15 in Valley

Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 N. Lipkey Road, will host a Fatima Conference May 13-15 featuring the Rev. Andrew Apostoli, an expert on the apparitions at Fatima.

Conference registration will be at 5:30 p.m. Friday followed by confessions in Prince of Peace Basilica. Vespers will be at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Shannon Collins, who will speak on “The Hell There Is.”

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. next Saturday with a continental breakfast in the Antioch Room. Father Apostoli will speak from 10 to 11 a.m. on “The Tragedy of the 20th Century and the Triumph of the IHM.” Catherine Moran will speak from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on “East Meet West: The Call of Our Heavenly Mother.” Lunch will be from 12:15 to 2 p.m. in Cedars Banquet Hall.

Father Collins will speak from 2 to 3 p.m. on “The Sign of Our Consecration: The Brown Scapular,” and Father Apostoli will speak from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on “Our Lady’s Greatest Gift: The Rosary.” Father Collins will celebrate a traditional Latin Mass at 5 p.m. in the basilica.

On May 15, a Maronite Divine Liturgy will be at 10 a.m. with Father Aspotoli.

Father Apostoli is a member of the Community of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal and was ordained in 1967. He is an adjunct faculty member of St. Joseph’s Seminary Dunwoodie, Yonkers, N.Y. He is serving as a vice postulator for the Cause of Canonization for Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen. Father Apostoli is frequently seen on EWTN and has produced TV series for the network. He wrote “Fatima for Today.”

Father Collins is a traditional religious priest under Bishop Roger Foys of Covington, Ky,. and was ordained in 2000. He has served as a chaplain for the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery. He has been a speaker at several of the Basilica Shrine’s Divine Mercy Conferences.

Moran is president of the Byzantine Division of the World Apostolate of Fatima in the Warren/Youngstown area. She was co-chairwoman of the visitation of the United Nations International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima in 2012 and 2013. Dr. Moran also has appeared as a guest speaker on the History Channel in 2009 to discuss the apparitions of Fatima.
