Boardman
Police responded to a 4 p.m. Thursday call about a man and woman doing drugs in a car while a child sat in the back seat.
When the officer approached the vehicle behind an apartment complex on Prestwick Drive, he found Daniel Krotky of Austintown and Dana Carano of New Middletown, naked and engaging in sexual activity. There was a female child in the back seat.
The officer noticed Carano shoving something into a body cavity and determined it was a syringe. After allowing them to put clothes on, the officer searched the vehicle, finding a syringe, a burnt spoon and suspected heroin residue.
The two are charged with public indecency, possession of drug-abuse instruments and child endangerment.
Police transported Carano to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to remove the syringe and then to the Mahoning County jail. Krotky was taken to the jail and later released, but Carano is lodged until her court date. The two have a scheduled arraignment at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The report contained no additional details about the child.
