Shepherd of the Valley in Poland hosted a Ground Breaking Ceremony on April 14 to celebrate the start the building of a new addition.
A new 32-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing unit will be added onto the current building and is expected to be completed in nine months. Shepherd of the Valley is working with Baker, Bednar, Snyder and Associates, a Howland architecture firm, and DeSalvo Construction of Hubbard. The new addition will be almost 25,000 square feet, including a therapy gym with a pool that has treadmill capabilities, an outdoor patio and happy hour lounge, and three neighborhoods with private rooms and bathrooms.
“The Board of Directors has worked very hard since the company’s inception to ensure that Shepherd of the Valley is well-equipped to provide the best quality service it can to our clients and our communities,” said Karen Bovard, President of the Board of Directors.
After a few presentations, representatives from the Board of Directors, Shepherd of the Valley faculty, and representatives from the companies working with Shepherd of the Valley took a shovel and broke ground to show the start of the construction.
The committee put emphasis on the importance of their commitment to the clients of Shepherd of the Valley. Every part of the new addition was discussed with consideration for the patients and their care.
“The ground breaking ceremony celebrates the soon to be visible beginning of a new milestone in the journey of Shepherd of the Valley,” said Richard Limongi, Shepherd’s Executive Director.
