Sentenced again

WARREN

James Patterson, 27, of Division Street, Youngstown, was re-sentenced Thursday in the 2012 death of Christine Sheesley, 17, to whom he sold a fatal dose of heroin.

Judge Ronald Rice again gave him 20 years. The Warren-based 11th District Court of Appeals sent the case back to Judge Rice, saying he erred in his 2013 sentencing, counting two counts of heroin trafficking as if they were the same offense. It meant the judge could have added additional time to Patterson’s sentence.

Patterson sold heroin to Tyler Stevens, 20, of Girard on April 6, 2012, at an apartment in Girard, and Stevens injected it into Sheesley.
