Boardman High School and Austintown Fitch High School drum lines participated in a Battle of the Bands on April 9 at the Covelli Centre during a Youngstown Phantoms game.
Both drum lines played throughout the hockey game during the breaks. Each school was seated on separate sides of the ice so they would be facing each other as if they were in a face-off.
Boardman and Austintown, long time rivals, took to the ice during the second intermission of the Youngstown Phantoms hockey game to show off their skills. Both drum lines performed two sets and it was up to the audience to decide the winner.
After a separate performance, the winner was announced and it was a tie. The drum lines came together to put on a performance as one. The drum lines performed for all of those in attendance at the hockey game.
Those who attended the game got a night filled with music and a game that ended in a win for the Youngstown Phantoms.
