Reserve Officers Association's Mahoning Chapter 42 selects leadership


Leadership for the local chapter of the Reserve Officers Association and the Reserve Officers Association League were recently elected. Those who will serve for 2016/2017 are Colonel Walter M.Duzzny, USA (ret) of Austintown - president; Colonel Willard Stamp, USA (ret) of Salem - vice president; LTC Michael Wisniewski, USA (ret) of Warren - treasurer; and CWO William Meshot, USA (ret), of Canfield - secretary. Appointed were LTC Rod Hosler, USA (ret) of Canfield - veterans affairs, and LTC Don Rasile USA (ret), Boardman - membership

Elections also took place for the Reserve Officers Association League, being Barb Stamp - president, Rose Pacalo - vice president, Carol Stepuk - secretary and Bonnie Rasile - treasurer.

The national organization was formed in 1924 by then General of the Army George “Blackjack” Pershing, who saw the need to insure for the security of the nation by having a strong reserve force. For more than 90 years the ROA has provided the tools and resources for reservists and their families to be able to succeed in and out of uniform. Membership is open to officers, warrant officers and non-commissioned officers.
