UPDATE | ADI working to answer DOT questions, airport chief says

VIENNA — The U.S. Department of Transportation isn’t sure if Aerodynamics is financially fit to provide its Youngstown/Chicago air service planned to start next month.

But Dan Dickten, director of aviation at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, said Aerodynamics is working non-stop to resolve concerns of the DOT.

In a filing dated May 3, the DOT lists three concerns: the certificate of insurance submitted appears to be modified and is missing required information; the company did not provide citizenship or compliance information for Armando Cardenas, ADI’s new director of safety, security and regulatory compliance; and ADI’s updated financial information does not support its ability to fund proposed scheduled operations.

“We have completed our review of the information provided and find that ADI did not provide sufficient information to make its authority effective,” the DOT writes.

Dickten said two of the three issues have been resolved already. The airline resolved the first two issues and is working on the financial fitness concern.

Flights were initially supposed to begin June 1, but last week were bumped to start June 13.
