UPDATE | Jurors continue to deliberate in Austin/Henderson trials
YOUNGSTOWN — Jurors in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court have been deliberating for about an hour in the murder cases against Michael Austin, 22 and Hakeem Henderson, 24.
Both men face four counts of aggravated murder and a count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Austin faces an additional count of attempted murder.
Prosecutors say the pair were enforcers for a drug ring on the East Side. Judge John M. Durkin is hearing the case.
Four others who prosecutors say are part of the ring will be tried later.
Jurors heard closing arguments this morning, then were instructed on the law by Judge Durkin before retiring to deliberate just after 2 p.m.
