The school announced Monday that mid-season Big Ten games will be televised either by ABC or one of the ESPN channels.

The Northwestern game starts at 5 p.m., and the others kick off at 8 p.m.

Browns release Solomon, Hakim

CLEVELAND

The Browns released linebacker Scott Solomon, whose 2015 season was stopped short by injuries.

Cleveland had high hopes for Solomon as an outside pass rusher, but he hurt an ankle in the first quarter of the season opener against the New York Jets and was inactive for the next three games.

On Oct. 11, he injured a knee on the first play against Baltimore, returned to play but was placed on injured reserve three days later.

Solomon became expendable after the Browns selected two linebackers during last weekend’s NFL draft. Solomon has also played for Tampa Bay, the Jets and Tennessee.

The Browns also waived wide receiver Saalim Hakim, who was signed last week after impressing coaches during a tryout in mini-camp.

Cleveland added four wide receivers during the draft, selecting Baylor’s Corey Coleman with the No. 15 overall pick.

Ex-49er Stubblefield charged with rape

SAN JOSE, CALIF.

Prosecutors say they have charged former San Francisco 49er Dana Stubblefield with the rape of a “developmentally delayed” woman.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office says the 45-year-old Stubblefield was charged Monday with sexually assaulting the woman last year at his Morgan Hill home.

Prosecutors say Stubblefield contacted the then 31-year-old woman on a baby sitting website and arranged an interview for April 9, 2015, when he assaulted her.

They say that after the assault the woman immediately went to the Morgan Hill Police Department and reported the rape.

Prosecutors say Stubblefield faces five felony counts and a “substantial prison sentence.”

Bail for Stubblefield is set at $250,000. His arraignment is scheduled to take place within 24 hours.

Curry return possible for Game Three

OAKLAND, Calif.

Stephen Curry was expected back on the court for more light shooting Monday to test his sprained right knee, still with the hope he could be ready to return for Golden State’s Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals Saturday at Portland.

Coach Steve Kerr said Monday that the reigning MVP wouldn’t be available for Tuesday night’s Game 2 with the Warriors up 1-0 in the best-of-seven series after a 118-106 win Sunday in the opener.

“I’ll just say he’s doubtful just so we give everybody something to chew on,” Kerr joked. “He’s not playing tomorrow, but he’s doubtful.”

The superstar point guard sprained the MCL in his knee during a Game 4 first-round victory at Houston on April 24.
