Austintown Fitch 10, Warren Harding 0

AUSTINTOWN

Derek Gunter threw a no-hitter, striking out seven and walking one in the five-inning game. Brian Beany went 3 for 3 with a run scored, three RBIs and a double. Jake Gherardi went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and one RBI. Dominic DiFransesco scored two runs, had two RBIs and had a walk-off double to win the game.

Poland 5, Boardman 4

POLAND

Poland (18-2, 9-0 All-American Conference Red) clinched a share of the league’s top tier, scoring a run in the sixth inning to down Boardman. The two teams play again today and a Bulldogs win gives them the title outright. A Spartans win gives them a share of the title. Anthony Calcagni went 3 for 4 with a double and scored two runs for Poland. Pad O’Shaughnessy notched a two-run home run and Nick Petrolla had a two-run double and hit the game-winning sacrifice fly. Drew Wagner and Dom Stilliana each singled and scored for Boardman.

Canfield 10, Howland 0

HOWLAND

Joey Machuga pitched all five innings for Canfield, allowing just two hits and striking out five Tigers. Machuga and Joe Delucia each went 3 for 4. Machuga scored two runs and drove in two more while Delucia scored a single run and drove in one.

Hubbard 9, Lakeside 0

HUBBARD

Colin Shinosky (5-2) tossed a two-hitter, striking out five and walking one for the Eagles (15-6, 5-4 AAC White). Shinosky had three hits including a double and drove in two runs. Ryan Love had two two hits and three RBIs while Brett Lopuchovsky had two hits and two RBIs. Jamie Thomson doubled. Lakeside is 6-8, 3-6.

Struthers 3, Jefferson 1

STRUTHERS

Jon Medvec tossed seven innings and allowed just one run to earn the win. Tied at one in the sixth inning, Jake Kreibel notched a two-out double to put the Wildcats ahead. Adam Sedzmak followed with an RBI single. Kreibel finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs. Sam Chaney doubled and had an RBI for Jefferson, while Tyler Maylish tripled.

LaBrae 7, Girard 2

GIRARD

J.T. Wolke threw a complete game, allowing just two hits and striking out seven while also hitting a double and a triple. Wolke drove in two runs. Bryson Johnson and Grant Sprague each had two hits for the Vikings, one of Sprague’s being a double.

South Range 10, United 0

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

The Raiders (12-9, 4-2 Inter-Tri County League Red) made quick work of United, scoring five runs in the first inning and running away. Brandon Youngs led South Range with three hits, including a triple. Ethan Dominguez, Anthony Ritter and Brycen James each had two hits. Dominguez had a double, James had three RBIs and Ritter drove in two.

Lowellville 4, McDonald 0

STRUTHERS

Tyler Barone threw a complete-game shutout, allowing three hits and striking out seven Blue Devils. McDonald starter Garrett Mulrooney struck out eight in the loss. Joe Mico had two hits for Lowellville (4-10).

Crestview 4, Columbiana 0

COLUMBIANA

Michael McDonough tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out 12, walking one and throwing 89 pitches in seven innings for the Rebels (15-4). Crestview collected eight hits, led by Tyler Hurd’s two. Joel Fitzsimmon’s tripled and had one RBI. Jake Clark got the start for the Clippers (12-7) and pitched a complete-game, giving up four runs (three earned) while striking out five.

Lisbon 11, Wellsville 0

LISBON

Noah Barnes threw a five-inning no hitter, striking out nine and walking none. On offense, Lisbon scored seven runs in the first inning and added four more in the fourth to earn the run-ruled victory a half-inning later. Nick Bowen had three RBIs and two runs scored while David Toot went 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.

SOFTBALL

Poland 5, Boardman 4

BOARDMAN

The Bulldogs rallied from a four-run deficit in the second inning. Audrey SChweers’ three hits included a triple while Amanda Wire and Kristyn Svetlak had one RBI. Svetlak was the winning pitcher, striking out eight and walking three. Olivia Russell had two of the Spartans’ four hits, one was a triple. Sydney Aey doubled.

WARREN

For the Falcons (7-10), Ashia Walker-Forest hit a single and a double, and Lainie Simons hit two singles and a double to drive in a run. Erin Harper hit a homer and a single, and contributed two RBIs. Maddie Everhart had a double, a triple and an RBI. For the Raiders (2-15), Talayshah Harris hit a triple and added two RBIs and Cailyn Emch had a double and two RBIs.

Lakeview 21, Niles 1

CORTLAND

Cait Kelm tossed a three-hitter, striking out 10 and walking three. Beady Titus hit two homers including a grand slam while Kelm, Kylee Mann and Tori Wells doubled. Wells and Titus each drove in six runs.

South Range 1, United 0

NORTH LIMA

South Range clinched the ITCL Red championship, led by Caragyn Yanek at the mound with 13 strikeouts, one walk and one allowed hit. Hope Thomas tripled in the sixth inning, which brought in the only RBI. Haylee Hawk had the only hit for United, and Anna Patterson pitched eight strikeouts and two walks.

Jackson-Milton 6, Western Reserve 0

BERLIN CENTER

Sierra Pierce had quite a day, striking out seven in a complete-game shutout while also smashing a two-run home run. Western Reserve (9-5) starter Sydney Miller was knocked around for seven hits while surrendering seven walks as well. Madde Hyland and Katie Rago each had two hits for the Bluejays (8-11).

McDonald 4, Lowellville 0

LOWELLVILLE

The Blue Devils (12-2-1) clinched the Blue Division of the ITCL behind Cheyenne Titus’ 12 strikeout performance. Kerrigan McDermott hit a solo home run while Kendra Kelly and Olivia Sanson had two hits each, one of Kelly’s being a double.

Springfield 7, East Palestine 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Marlie Applegarth led Springfield (11-8) with three hits, including a double and three RBIs while Cassie Bacon had two doubles and drove in one run on three hits. Kaelen Yemma hit a triple and scored two runs. Jacqueline Kush knocked three singles and Josie Applegarth picked up the win, striking out six in the process. Sara Buskirk had two singles for the Bulldogs.

BOYS LACROSSE

Cardinal Mooney 10, Canton Central Catholic 9, 2OT

CANTON

Jimmy Brown scored the game-winning goal in double overtime for the Cardinals.
