Name change

YOUNGSTOWN

D&E Counseling, whose history of providing services to the Mahoning Valley stretches back to 1970, recently changed its name to Alta Care Group. This is a brand name change only, made to better reflect the type and level of services provided. The same staff and administration will continue to serve clients, said Joe Shorokey, Alta chief executive officer.

The mission of Alta Care Group is to support the social, emotional, behavioral and physical well-being of the youth of Mahoning County through its two divisions: Alta Behavioral Healthcare, which provides counseling services to a yearly average of nearly 2,000 children, adolescents and young adults and their families, and Alta Head Start, operating the Head Start/Early Head Start program in Mahoning County that serves 845 children birth through age 5 and their families.
