Cruz suspends his presidential campaign

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Ted Cruz is apparently dropping out of the presidential race, saying he is "suspending" his campaign.

"We gave it everything we had, but the voters chose another path," he said.

Not once did he say "quit."

Donald Trump took a major step toward sewing up the Republican presidential nomination Tuesday with a victory in Indiana's primary election, dashing the hopes of rival Cruz and other GOP forces who fear the brash businessman will doom their party in the general election.
