Activists protest dog's killing in Campbell

CAMPBELL — Several animal rights activists have shown up at Campbell Municipal Courthouse to protest before the pretrial hearing of a Campbell man accused of shooting and killing his neighbor's dog.

Brandon Stores is charged with animal cruelty and discharging a firearm within city limits.

Police responded to Princess Street in October in response to reports that a dog been shot. Stores told police the dog had tried to attack a 12-year-old girl. The dog's owner said the dog had escaped from her home at the time of the incident.
