Task force arrests 4 for OVI during weekend checkpoints

YOUNGSTOWN — Four people were cited for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs during two Mahoning County OVI Task Force sobriety checkpoints over the weekend.

Checkpoints were from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Mahoning Avenue and 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Avenue and Playhouse Lane.

Police said 467 vehicles passed through both checkpoints and 18 other people were issued citation for other offenses.
