McDonald man expected to be arraigned in rape of girl, 11

NILES — David J. Schmitt, 18, of Watson-Marshal Road in McDonald is scheduled for an arraignment today in Niles Municipal Court on a rape charge.

McDonald police said the offense occurred April 24 and involved a girl, 11. Schmitt was arrested on the charge Friday and taken to the Trumbull County jail.

McDoald police were notified by the McDonald school district on Friday of the allegation, police said.
