Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and piloxing at 9, senior spinning (I), bingo and painting class at 10, lunch at noon, overeaters anonymous at 1 p.m. and power pilates at 1:15; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on physics at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, bingo and crocheting at 10, chair yoga at 11:30, lunch at noon, advisory council meeting and ballroom dancing at 12:30 p.m., and AARP choir and coloring book class at 1; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, Drums Alive, video class on forensics and blood pressure checks at 9, bingo and senior spinning (E) at 10, pizza party ($3) at noon, ukulele class at 12:30 p.m. and instructor’s choice at 1:15; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class on Civil War at 8:50, vets helping vets and wood carving at 9, S.O.S. at 9:30, chair yoga and crocheting/needlework at 10, knitting and fencing at 11, coloring book class and senior financial empowerment class at 1 p.m., crochet tips and tricks at 2 and dinner/grocery bingo at 5; and Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, video class on military blunders and senior spinning (S) at 9, senior spinning (E) at 9:30, bingo at 10 and Mother’s Day party at 11:30. Gathering Place event, sponsored by Lord of Life Church, Canfield, will meet at 11 a.m. May 9 at Canfield Library, 43 W Main St. The program will begin at 11:30. A presentation will be given of services that the library provides of special interest to seniors, and there will be an opportunity for a guided tour and individual exploration. Lunch will be provided. This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens on the second Monday of each month. A variety of games and activities are offered. Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. Warren S.C.O.P.E., 220 W. Market St., is hosting a free community outreach from 9:30 a.m. to noon May 19 for Warren residents. Twenty-eight agencies serving the Trumbull area will be available to answer questions. There will be a scavenger hunt with prizes, and the cafe will offer lunches for sale.
