Today — Casal’s H2GO 5K Run / Walk at the Mill Creek MetroParks’ Wick Recreation Area. The Run/Walk at 9 a.m. and a kid’s run run (10-and-under) at 8:45 a.m. Cost is $25. Participants can register online at www.gopherarun.com or in person at Casal’s de Spa Salon’s Canfield or Howland locations or mail registration forms to Casal’s de Spa and Salon, 4030 Boardman-Canfield Rd., Canfield, Ohio 44406.

Thursday — Cinco de Mayo 5K at Up A Creek Tavern, 4793 East Market St., Warren. Cost is $18 in advance and $20 the day pf the race. Register at www.gopherarun.com by May 3. Race-day registration runs from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at Up A Creek Tavern. Race begins at 7 p.m.

Saturday — Warren “Run For Life” 5K Run/Walk at the Warren Relay for Life. Race begins at Trumbull Family Fitness Center, 210 High St., Warren. 5K run at 9 a.m., 5K walk at 9:15 a.m. Cost is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the race. Register online at www.gopherarun.com. 28 — Beaver Local Athletic Hall of Fame’s fourth annual Hustle 5K Race and 2-mile Walk. Race and walk start at 9, with check-in at 8 a.m. at Beaver Local K-12 School Complex, 46090 Bell School Road, East Liverpool. Cost: $15 if pre-registered by May 15 (includes a free t-shirt) and $20 on race-day. Forms available by e-mail: blathletichof@gmail.com.Proceeds benefit HOF scholarships and induction ceremonies. Awards to top three finishers in each of the 14 age brackets, plus male and female overall. Downhill finish.

30 — Freedom Run 5K and Mile Walk in Edinburg. Both begin at 8 a.m. Net proceeds benefit Kent Freedom House for Veterans. Registration is $20 in advance and on race day. 30 — Mosquito Lake Chase 5K to benefit the Maplewood Running Rockets will take place at 9 a.m. at Maplewood High School in Mecca. This year’s race is a tribute to the late Oscar Grant, the long-time Maplewood teacher, coach and track official. Advance registration at www.gopherarun.com is $17. 9 — Immaculate Heart of Mary Festival 5K. Start time is 7 p.m. This is one of the oldest running events in the area. All participants must be registered. Online registration at Runsignup.com/Race/OH/Austintown/Ihmfestival5K. A very short quarter-mile kids run takes place just before the 5K. Runners can register beginning at 5 p.m. on race day. Registration fee is $10 if you do not want a shirt.

23 — ColorBurst 5K will be at Eastwood Field in Niles. Highlighting the run are amazing music and gallons of colored paint At each interval along the course, CB5K crew blast each participant with non-toxic, hypoallergenic, washable, water-based paint from the sidelines. Early-bird tickets cost $32.50 and include a CB5K t-shirt, CB5K headband and a personal sized bottle of color.
