Mountaineer arrest

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va.

The two men suspected of robbing PNC Bank Branch on Meridian Road in Youngstown on Thursday were arrested Saturday at Mountaineer Casino and Racetrack and are being held in Northern Regional Jail in Moundsville awaiting extradition to Ohio.

The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, reported that the suspects, Michael Zarlingo, 55, and Rickie Gonzales, 51, were arrested in the casino by U.S. marshals, acting on a tip, with the assistance of casino security personnel.

The bank was robbed Thursday afternoon by two suspects wearing ski masks and gloves. One of the men remained in the lobby holding a sawed-off shotgun while the other jumped over the customer service counter taking money from an employee and from tellers’ money drawers.
