McKenzie Zigmont won her 10th game of the year, striking out 10 Lakeview batters and walking only one. Megan Turner and Zigmont each had two hits apiec, Turner hit a home run and Molly Williams hit a double in the victory. Beady Titus had a double for Lakeview.
Windham 5, Springfield 0
NEW MIDDLETOWN
Springfield lost to Windham, as the Tigers were held to just two hits. Makenzy Cappoulez doubled and Cassie Bacon singled for Springfield. Josie Applegarth took the loss, allowing six hits and striking out seven and walking three.
Springfield 6, Tuslaw 5
NEW MIDDLETOWN
Springfield (10-8) beat Tuslaw after being down by one run going into the bottom of the seventh inning. The Tigers rallied for two runs, as Brianna Yemma led off the frame with a single, followed by her sister Kaelen Yemma, who also hit a single. Two batters later, Marlie Applegarth notched a single to load the bases. Lindsey Druschel then walked to force in the tying run. Then, with the bases loaded, Cassie Bacon singled to left for the winning run. The Yemma’s paced the Tigers with three singles each.
Mineral Ridge 4-2, Badger 3-12
WEATHERSFIELD
The Rams won the first game of the doubleheader, as Kim Schilling earned the victory while striking out five. Leading Mineral Ridge in hitting was Macey Garland with had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Sarah Pezzenti added two hits and two runs. The Rams were then defeated by Badger in the second game. Schilling and Hannah Ramsey each had two hits.

Nick Deal picked up the win pitching six innings and striking out four in the process. The Raiders scored seven runs in the third inning and Travis Baxter led the Raiders with three hits. Baxter, Jared Bajerski and Anthony Ritter each had two RBIs.

Massillon Washington 9-4, Howland 5-1
MASSILLON
Six runs in the first two innings of game one set the tone as Washington swept the battle of the Tigers. Chris Machamer went 2 for 2 with two walks, three RBIs and two runs scored for Washington in game one while Craig Lewis went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Howland. In game two, Washington scored four runs on four hits. Machamer and Vince Murray each had two runs scored in the win. Nick Badanjek went 2 for 3 with an RBI in defeat.
Canfield 9, South Range 2
BEAVER TOWNSHIP
Luke Kelty picked up the win, striking out seven South Range hitters while walking only two. The Cardinals tore the game open with three runs in the fifth and seventh innings. Joe Delucia and Matt Pappas each had two hits for Canfield while Greg Dunham slugged four base hits for the Raiders (11-9, 3-2 ITCL Red) including a double and a triple.
Poland 6, Springfield 5 9 innings
NEW MIDDLETOWN
Poland scored two runs in the ninth inning to hold off Springfield. Eric White and Pad O’Shaughnessy both singled in the ninth with one out, before Nick Petrolla singled to drive in the go-ahead run and Tony Chairo added another RBI single. Springfield’s Steve Ranelli scored on Anthony Ugolini’s fielders choice in the bottom half, but Brannon Brungard was stranded at second base to end the game. White, O’Shaughnessy and Petrolla each finished with three hits for Poland, while Nathan Sommers paced Springfield with two hits.
Niles 16, Warren Harding 0
NILES
Jaret Johnson went 2 for 3 with four runs scored for Niles, while Jeff Hosey had three hits and two RBIs. Marco DeFalco tossed five innings for the Red Dragons, allowing just one hit. Mark Herron doubled for Harding.
Fitch 10, Struthers 4
AUSTINTOWN
Mike Grazier went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs for Fitch, while Chris Gerberry and Jared Kapturasky each added two hits and an RBI. Brian Beany earned the victory, tossing five innings and allowing four runs on five hits with six strikeouts. Jake Shaffer went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a double for Struthers and Jake Kreibel added a double and scored two runs.
Badger 5-11, Mineral Ridge 4-4
KINSMAN
In game one, Badger took the lead in the seventh inning and Mineral Ridge was unable to muster a comeback. The Rams were led by Mac White, who went 2 for 2. Mineral Ridge dropped the second game as well despite Aaron Frantz’s 3 for 3 performance at the plate. Jake Rhodes took the loss, allowing six runs in three innings. He struck out three.
