Morans mark golden anniversary

GASTONIA, N.C.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin E. Moran of Gastonia, N.C., formerly of Youngstown, were honored at a family dinner April 16 in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The couple’s family includes their children and their spouses, Marty and Jenny Moran of Hoschton, Ga.; Marci Moran of Charlotte, N.C.; and Crain and Sally Moran of Fort Mill, S.C.; and four grandchildren, Riley, Alaina, Carson and Miles.

Mrs. Moran, the former Elaine M. Sferra, became the bride of Mr. Moran on April 16, 1966, during a ceremony at St. Christine Church in Youngstown.

She retired in 2004 from the Gaston County Schools in North Carolina.

Her husband retired in 1999 after 34 years with Parker Hannifin, formerly Commercial Intertech in Kings Mountain, N.C., where he was a plant warehouse manager and account manager. He was a member of the Air Force Reserves.

The Morans are members of St. Michael Church.
