Carly Sachs of Kent, formerly of Liberty, and Trey Conatser of Kent, are engaged and will be married May 16 in Kent.

Her parents are Sandi Sachs of Girard and Ken Sachs of Strongsville, and his parents are Mary Campbell of Indianapolis and Robert Conatser of Fort Worth, Texas.

The bride-elect earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Kent State University and a master’s degree in poetry from the New School in New York City. She has taught college writing and creative writing at George Washington University and KSU. She also completed 200- and 500-hour yoga teacher trainings at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and is the director of a 200-hour yoga teacher training at One Love Yoga & Boutique in Kent.

Her fianc earned a bachelor’s degree in English from University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in English from the University of Nebraska. He is completing a doctorate in English at Ohio State University. The couple will be moving to Lexington, Ky., where the future groom has been hired as a faculty instructional consultant at the University of Kentucky’s Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching.
