Mahoning, Trumbll, Columbiana bridges to close soon

Several bridges over major Mahoning Valley highways will close soon for replacement or repair, the Ohio Department of Transportation has announced.

State Route 164 over Interstate 680 in Beaver Township will be closed Monday through early October for a $3.4 million replacement of the state Route 164 bridge over that interstate highway.

The detour will be state Route 626 to state Route 7 to U.S. Route 224 to I-680 680.

I-680 under state Route 164 will have various daily lane restrictions.

New Road in Austintown over state Route 11 will be closed Monday through May 9 for bridge repairs. The detour will be state Route 46 to Kirk Road to Raccoon Road.

From Monday through Friday, state Route 534 over the Ohio Turnpike in Braceville will be closed for bridge repairs being performed by the Ohio Turnpike. The detour will be state Route 82 to state Route 5.

Between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, traffic will be stopped for up to 10 minutes at 30-minute intervals on state Routes 5 and 82 under West Market Street in Warren for bridge-beam removal.

West Market Street over state Routes 5 and 82 is closed through mid-October for bridge replacement.

From May 9 to 20, the bridge that carries U.S. Route 62 and state Route 46 over the Ohio Turnpike in Canfield will be closed while the turnpike performs bridge repairs.

The official detour will be U.S. Route 224 to state Route 11 to I-80.

State Route 303 over the Ohio Turnpike in Braceville will be closed May 10 to 20 for bridge repairs being performed by the turnpike. The detour will be state Route 88 to state Route 82.

Beginning May 9, state Route 616 between Oak Street and McGuffey Road in Youngstown will be closed through May 16 for a culvert replacement. The detour will be state Route 304 to state Route 7/U.S. Route 62 to U.S. Route 422.

This work is part of a $900,000 project to replace culverts and perform bridge repairs along various routes in Mahoning County. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by July.
