Cafaro Co. to move headquarters May 31

The Cafaro Co., 2445 Belmont Ave., will relocate its corporate headquarters to its Eastwood Mall Complex in Niles on May 31.

The company first announced it would relocate its headquarters in the fall of 2014.

The new headquarters will encompass 50,000 square feet.

Cafaro Co. was founded in Youngstown in 1945.

The moving project has been in the works for several years because of the limitations employees have in the current office space, and due to plans for growth.

The Youngstown building is for sale or lease.

Contract signings for Ohio homes rise

COLUMBUS

The Ohio Association of Realtors reports the number of single-family homes and condominiums put under agreement in February 2016 reached a best-ever level for the month, increasing 15.8 percent from the level posted during the month a year ago.

Ohio’s February Pending Home Sales Index of 148.6, a forward-looking indicator based on contract signings, increased 15.8 percent from February 2015. Activity in February increased 3.4 percent from the pace of agreements reached in January 2016.

PGCB fines four casino operators

HARRISBURG

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Wednesday levied fines totaling $68,000 against four casino operators for various violations.

The fines were the result of board approvals of consent agreements between the PGCB’s office of enforcement counsel and: Downs Racing L.P., operator of Mohegan Sun Pocono in Luzerne County, which was fined $37,500 for underage gaming violations; Chester Downs and Marina LLC., operator of Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack in Delaware County, which was fined $15,000 for a violation regarding table games; Mountainview Thoroughbred Racing Association, operator of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Dauphin County, which was fined $8,000 for a procedural violation with table games; and Valley Forge Convention Center Partners L.P., operator of the Valley Forge Casino Resort in Montgomery County, which was fined $7,500 for a violation of the self-exclusion program.

PGCB renews operator’s license

HARRISBURG

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board unanimously voted Wednesday to renew the Category 1 Racetrack Casino operator’s license of Washington Trotting Association Inc., operator of The Meadows Casino in Washington County.

The seven-member board determined that Washington Trotting Association Inc. had fulfilled the obligations under its previously-approved casino operator’s license and qualified to have its license renewed for an additional three-year period.
