Ribbon-cutting for Ashley HomeStore

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Ashley HomeStore, 1130 Boardman-Poland Road, at 9:30 a.m. today.

The Schultz family is opening its first Ashley HomeStore in Boardman.

The new store features a 28,000-square-foot showroom, including a “Dream Destination” sleep area showcasing Tempur-Pedic, Beautyrest, I-comfort and Ashley sleep products. The store has hired more than 25 full-time employees and will continue to hire for sales and delivery positions.

Construction begins on new restaurant

HOWLAND

Stonebridge Grille and Tavern recently started construction on a second restaurant to open in Howland on state Route 46.

Stonebridge is a locally owned company with a restaurant in Boardman led by partners Bob Stevens and Ron Zenko. The partners saw a need for casual American cuisine in the Eastwood Mall area.

The restaurant will seat 225 in the lounge and dining room with an additional 30 seats at a horseshoe-style bar. A patio will seat 75. There is also a banquet room that will accommodate up to 50 people with a private patio. Zenko expects to hire between 75 and 100 people for front and back of the house positions.

Ribbon-cutting for Falls Family Care

NEWTON FALLS

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for ONE Health Ohio – Falls Family Care, 175 E. Broad St., at 11 a.m. today.

Falls Family Care, ONE Health Ohio’s sixth facility in the state and the fourth in Trumbull County, will offer family medical and dental services for adults and children.

Falls Family Care features 7,000 square feet of space, with six medical exam rooms, five dental treatment rooms and two clinical counseling offices featuring cutting-edge dental equipment and medical diagnostic equipment that communicates directly with the electronic records system. The facility also will offer on-site lab testing. Behavioral-health services will be added after opening.

Ryan submits testimony on steel dumping

WASHINGTON

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, on Monday fought to protect the U.S. steel industry from unfair trade practices. Countries such as China continue to dump steel into markets and dilute the price of the product. Ryan submitted testimony to the U.S. Department of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative about the issue.

Home prices rise faster than incomes

WASHINGTON

U.S. home prices climbed at more than double the rate of incomes in January, a trend that ultimately could create affordability challenges for buyers. The Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller 20-city home price index rose 5.7 percent from a year earlier, a slight increase from the 5.6 percent annual increase in December, according to a report Tuesday.
