Police recover pot, cash and arrest man after traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN — An Outlook Avenue man is in the Mahoning County jail after vice officers Tuesday found three large bags of marijuana and almost $1,300 in cash during a traffic stop at about 6:50 p.m. at Princeton Avenue Market Street.

Kenneth Pete Johnson III, 29, was booked into the jail on charges of trafficking in drugs and driving under suspension.

Reports said Johnson was pulled over for an improper turn and as he was slowing down several bags were being thrown out the driver's side window.

Police recovered the bags, which had the marijuana, and a records showed that Johnson has six open suspensions on his license. The money was found in Johnson's pockets, reports said.
