Girard 4, Champion 3, 9 innings

GIRARD

Troy Trumbetta’s suicide squeeze with the bases loaded in the ninth inning scored Brady Hunkus for Girard’s (2-1, 1-0) first All-American Conference Blue Tier win. Tyler O’Dell got the win in relief with two strikeouts and a walk in three innings of work. O’Dell was also 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs. For Champion (1-1, 0-1), Lucas Nasonti was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Springfield 13, Mineral Ridge 3

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Springfield run-ruled Mineral Ridge after an eight run fifth inning put what was a two-run game away. Nathan Sommers led the offensive output going 3-for-4 scoring three runs and driving in three runs.

Brookfield 10, Liberty 2

BROOKFIELD

Brad Farley was the winning pitcher for Brookfield with eight strikeouts while Andrew Everly took the loss with four strikeouts.

Crestview 13, Leetonia 1

COLUMBIANA

Andy Gorby threw a no-hitter for Crestview (2-0). Tyler Fitzsimmons, Kaden Davis, Riley Mackall and Brandon Chuey led Crestview offensively.

Edgewood 7, Struthers 0

STRUTHERS

Matt DiDonato led Edgewood (2-1) with two runs and Al Graeb contributed another run. Marcus Ernst was the winning pitcher for Edgewood, while Pat Carano took the loss for Struthers (2-2).

Toronto 4, Lisbon 3

TORONTO

Avery Andric led the Blue Devils (1-1) with four hits including a double. N. Bowen and B. McCullough also doubled.

Mathews 11, Lakeside 1

VIENNA

Lakeside gave up 10 runs in the first inning and was unable to recover. For Mathews, Anthony Oulton had two hits, including two RBIs. Rob Helmick also had two hits, while Bryan Oatridge had three RBIs and Chris Ritz had two RBIs for the Mustangs. Ryan Kay was the winning pitcher with one strikeout and one walk.

West Branch 2, Louisville 0

BELOIT

Brant Alazous took a no-hitter into the fifth inning for West Branch (2-1, 1-0). He pitched a complete game shutout, giving up two hits and a walk while striking out 11. Seth Schroeder was 3-for-4 with a run score and Tyler Goode was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Louisville’s (1-1,0-1) Corey White broke up Alazous’ no-hitter in the fifth.

Boardman 3, Stevenson 2

VERO BEACH, FLA.

Hudson Widrig threw a one-hitter against the Illinois team on Monday. The two runs Stevenson (3-1) scored were unearned. Connor Kenneally and Chris Dailey hit RBI singles for the Spartans in their opener. Lou Cardona doubled.

SOFTBALL

Hubbard 10, Niles 0

NILES

Addy Jarvis tossed a five-inning perfect game for the Eagles, striking out 11 batters. Morgan Kist homered and drove in three runs while Lea Munnell had a two-run single. Jarvis had a RBI single. Kayla Chmelik doubled.

Champion 9, Girard 3

GIRARD

Mckenzie Zigmont struck out seven, walked none and clubbed two home runs in the Golden Flashes’ victory. Molly Williams added three RBIs while Megan Turner smacked a triple, one of 15 Champion base hits.

Canfield 10, Chesterfield (SC) 0

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

Chloe Cruz led the Cardinals with three extra-base hits, including two RBI doubles. Maura Kennedy also had two RBI doubles and Amelia Manenti had two RBI singles. Bridget Durkin pitched all six innings for Canfield with no runs on four hits and five strikeouts. Madison Milli took the loss with one walk and one strikeout; she gave up 10 runs in the sixth inning.

Edgewood 8-6, Struthers 3-20

STRUTHERS

Struthers fell to Edgewood in game one of a doubleheader before exploding for a 14-run win to split the twinbill. Struthers’ Khaylah Brown had five RBIs and was a double shy of a cycle in game two.

Lakeview 21, Lakeside 0

CORTLAND

Tori Wells smacked a two-run homer as the Bulldogs defeated Lakeside in five innings. Beady Titus and McKenna Cannon each had two RBIs. Cait Kelm one-hit Lakeside and struck out 11 batters.

Brookfield 18, Liberty 1

LIBERTY

Ella Simcox collected two hits, including a double and three RBIs for Brookfield. McKenzie Drapola also hit a double in the blowout win. Alisha Quinlan struck out seven and allowed three hits in four innings of work.

East Sullivan (TN) 5, Ursuline 3

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.

East Sullivan struck early, leading 5-0 after three innings. Ursuline rallied in the bottom of the third, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit. For the Irish, Gia Caldrone led with three hits including two doubles and two RBIa. McKenzie Shells tacked on a single and a double while Jordyn Kenneally struck out 11 for the Irish.

United 2, McDonald 1

HANOVERTON

Cheyenne Titus struck out 10 batters and gave up two runs for McDonald while Kerrigan McDermott led with two hits including a double.

West Branch 11, Minerva 1

BELOIT

Dani Lough led West Branch with two hits and four RBIs. Kylie Coffelt had three hits and two RBIs, and Grace Heath had two hits, including two RBIs. Kelsey Byers had nine strikeouts and gave up two hits for West Branch. Hannah Reusser gave up eight hits and two walks for Minerva. Megan Foutz and Amber Hume led Minerva with one hit each.

Mathews 31, Bloomfield 0

VIENNA

Nicole Watts got the win by allowing one hit, no walks and by striking out nine in three innings. She also had two hits and two RBIs. The Mustangs totaled 14 hits to Bloomfield’s one. Lenna Hoff had a single, a double, a triple, three RBIs and four runs scored. Meredith Grimes also had three hits, including a double and a triple for five RBIs. Maitlyn Simon scored four runs and collected two hits for two RBIs.
